Sorry, I couldn't resist quoting Robin Williams. I woke up in Vietnam this morning!
Susan and I had a good, but long trip over. My friend Ron dropped me off at the airport at 11:00pm Thursday night, and as I was checking in, I was told our flight was delayed. Susan's Mom and sister stayed and visited with us until about 1:00 in the morning, and then we went into the boarding area and napped for a while. Our plane didn't leave until about 4:00am.
The delay meant that we missed our connecting flight to Vietnam, so in Hong Kong, Cathay Airlines gave us a hotel room, a free lunch and re-booked us on a flight about 6 hours later. We emailed the change in flights to our contact in Vietnam, had lunch, and then shopped until it was time to get back to the airport.
Another 2 1/2 hours later, we were here! The hotel sent a shuttle to pick us up. The Somerset Ho Chi Minh is a lovely apartment residence. We have a beautiful 2 bedroom suite with kitchen, laundry and Wi-Fi. There is an open-air restaurant beside the pool and hot-tub. Tennis courts, playground and an air conditioned children's playroom. And the coffee at breakfast this morning was amazingly good! I had 3 cups.
Susan's adoption ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday! We will start out at 6am for the 5 hour trip to Tra Vinh with another couple from Quebec.
So excited for you...fingers crosssed paper moves quickly for you and everyone else waiting!
